Bernard Ekumah Biography

An Environmental and Geo-spatial expert with profound interest in assessing the impact of human-environment interactions on natural systems. He integrates geospatial techniques and system thinking coupled with conventional approaches to study the interactions at the micro and macro levels. His core research areas/interests include land use dynamics, ecosystem health assessment, coastal processes, and multivariate environmental statistics. He is currently a PhD candidate in Sustainability Science at Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies, Sweden

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Master of Philosophy in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast (UCC). He also has a certificate in Spatial Ecotoxicology from University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany, certificate in Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Zone Management form Netherlands Water Partnership, Netherlands, and certificate in Multiple Stressors in Tropical Marine Environment from Technical University of Denmark and UCC. He is certified by Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to employ Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) for scientific research in geospatial planning, monitoring, and mapping.

He has 12 years of professional experience in the fields of Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Remote Sensing.
