An Expert in Hydrology and Geospatial Science and a distinguished academic and scholar in the field of civil and environmental engineering, hydrology, and Earth observation. With a remarkable career spanning multiple continents, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to advancing sustainable resource management, environmental conservation, and global cooperation through his extensive contributions to academia and international organizations.

His academic journey commenced at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, where he
completed his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He then pursued his passion for environmental hydrology, earning a Master of Science degree from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In 2013, he attained his Ph.D. in Hydrology and Water Resources from Hohai University in Nanjing, China. Subsequently, he conducted post-doctoral research on Climate Change Impacts on Hydropower Generation in Ghana, affiliated with the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

His research work has been characterized by a prolific research output and impactful leadership roles. He has published over 60 articles in prestigious journals, contributing invaluable insights to the scientific community in areas such as hydrology, environmental engineering, and sustainable resource management. His dedication to enhancing academic discourse extends beyond his research, as evidenced by his editorial roles in esteemed journals such as the Oriental Journal of Chemistry (OJC), Scientific African Journal’s Information Technology and Engineering Section, and the Journal of Energy and Natural Resource Management (JENRM), where he serves as a Co-Chief Editor.

Prof. Kabo-Bah’s leadership journey has been marked by his significant contributions to various departments and international organizations. He served as the Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department for Energy and Environmental Engineering, and the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre at the University of Energy and Natural Resources from 2015 to 2020. Currently, he holds the position of Dean for the International Relations Office at the same university, where he plays a pivotal role in fostering global partnerships and collaborations.

He is an instrumental figure in the international Earth observation community. His involvement with the Group on Earth Observation (GEO), an intergovernmental organization focused on improving Earth observations for societal benefit, is noteworthy. He serves as a Programme Board Member for GEO, contributing his expertise to enhance the availability, access, and utilization of Earth observation data. Within GEO, he also holds the role of Scientific Committee member for the GEO AquaWatch Programme and Co-Chair for the strategic development and implementation of the GEO Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) initiative. This initiative aims to aid nations in addressing land degradation by monitoring and reporting, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 15.

His contributions extend to the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), where he is a Scientific Steering Committee Member. Through these roles, he contributes to the advancement of global climate monitoring efforts and the dissemination of vital climatic information.
