Nana Fredua Agyeman Biography

A seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the dynamic realm of Research, Development, Monitoring, and Evaluation. With a proven track record spanning various international organizations, Nana’s expertise and leadership have played a pivotal role in driving the success of diverse projects. His profound understanding of budgeting, research methodologies, and evaluation techniques underscores his commitment to achieving impactful outcomes. He brings over a decade of dynamic experience as a Research, Development, Monitoring, and Evaluation expert within international contexts. His expertise spans budget management, research, and evaluation, showcasing his versatile skill set and leadership in driving successful projects.

Nana served as the Activity and Evaluation Manager for the USAID/West Africa Analytical Support Services and Evaluation for Sustainable Systems (ASSESS) project, overseeing critical initiatives and supervising communication and event planning units. In his previous role as an Activity Manager-Evaluation Specialist on the same project, he provided both technical and administrative oversight, ensuring research, evaluation, and knowledge management activities met USAID’s quality standards.

At TechnoServe, Nana’s impact was significant as he directed monitoring and evaluation efforts for the DFID-funded Enhancing Growth in New Enterprises (ENGINE) program. His meticulous approach to data collection, reporting, and program development contributed to its success. Nana’s expertise extended to the GIZ-funded Competitive African Rice Initiative (CARI) and the African Youth Agripreneurship Programme (AYAP). Nana’s proficiency in budgeting and program development was showcased during his tenure as a Budget Expert on the African Parliamentary Strengthening Program (APSP). His role involved designing capacity-building programs for parliamentary members and staff across Anglophone APSP countries, promoting efficient fiscal governance.

As a Research Officer at the Sustainable Tree Crop Program of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (STCP/IITA), Nana’s focus on econometric modeling led to insights into enhancing tree crop productivity while preserving forest resources. Nana’s early career as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the USAID-funded Multi-Year Assistance Program (MYAP) at TechnoServe allowed him to initiate and support impactful evaluation and research studies across diverse programs.

Nana holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies, showcasing his deep understanding of global development dynamics and enabling him to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges. His Bachelor’s degree in Economics underpins his strategic decision-making, bringing a solid foundation in economic principles to his projects. Additionally, Nana is a certified Project Manager, demonstrating his adeptness in orchestrating multifaceted projects and ensuring seamless coordination from start to finish. His advanced training in Monitoring and Evaluation equips him with specialized skills to design and implement robust evaluation frameworks, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
