Prof. Angela Akorsu Biography

A distinguished academic and an influential voice in the field of Development, Labour and Gender. With an illustrious career spanning nearly two decades, she has made significant contributions to academia, research, and outreach in the realms of trade union education, gender and rural women’s livelihoods, and agricultural value chain dynamics. She also serves as an Associate Professor and holds the esteemed position of Dean at the School for Development Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Her leadership in this capacity has not only shaped the academic landscape of the institution but also fostered an environment of intellectual curiosity and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Angela holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the esteemed University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Her doctoral research, characterized by its rigor and innovative approach, laid the foundation for her subsequent scholarly pursuits.
